WHAT IS THE MARIOVERSE MARATHON?
The Marioverse Marathon is a series tackling the goal of completing every single game in the Mario franchise to 100%. This will be done over the course of many months and each game will be played live over on Twitch, and recapped on YouTube.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO 100% A GAME?
To 100% a game is to complete, collect, and unlock everything the game has to offer. Every title on the list has unique completion requirements, and at varying difficulties. For some games, a basic playthrough is enough to call it complete, for others, I might find myself spending hours grinding for coins or searching for collectibles. With how many games I will be completing, it is an entirely mixed bag.

Each game will be completed without the use of guides, walkthroughs or other forms of assistance. My only resources going in to each game will be the game manual, the minimal research I do beforehand, and as an absolute last resort, any physical strategy guides I own.
WHAT COUNTS AS A MARIO GAME?
To make this the ultimate challenge, every single game in the Mario franchise and related sub-franchises will be included in this series. Every installment, every port, every remake. From the iconic games that everybody knows to some more obscure Japanese exclusives to even some promotional flash games.
There are, however, some exceptions, refer to the lists below for specifics on what is and isn't included in the challenge.

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO PLAY THE GAMES?
Over the past few years it has been my goal to complete a full set of Mario games, and I am almost there. So for most of the games on Nintendo consoles, I will be playing on original or FPGA-based hardware. Emulation or Everdrives will be reserved for those extremely obscure and inaccessible titles.

Current systems:
-
RetroUSB AVS w/ Famicom Disk System
-
Analogue Super NT
-
Analogue 3D
-
GameCube w/ Retro-Bit Legacy GC Adapter
-
Wii U
-
Nintendo Switch 2
-
Analogue Pocket w/ Dock
-
New 3DS XL w/ Optimize Capture Mod
WHAT ORDER ARE YOU PLAYING IN?
I will not be playing in release order. I will more or less be choosing games at random via a wheel, but not every game will be selectable from the start. The wheel will evolve and grow as more games are completed, for example completing Super Mario Kart will unlock Mario Kart 64 as an option on the wheel.

Some games will require unique set-ups or hardware that will be prepared beforehand, these games will be planned ahead of time and won't appear on the wheel.
